Delegation from National Early Warning and Monitoring Center of Natural Disaster of Brazil visited the National Disaster Reduction Center of Ministry of Civil Affairs, P. R. China

On the afternoon of July 20, 2017, Mr. Osvaldo Moraes, the Director General of National Early Warning and Monitoring Center of Natural Disaster of Brazil (hereinafter referred to as CEMADEN), and representatives from the Embassy of Brazil in China, visited the National Disaster Reduction Center (hereinafter referred to as NDRCC) of Ministry of Civil Affairs of China (hereinafter referred to as MCA). Mr. Pang Chenmin, Director General of Disaster Relief Department of MCA and NDRCC, Dr. Yang Siquan, Chief Engineer of NDRCC, Ms. Gao Kun, Deputy Director of Administrative Division of Department of International Cooperation of MCA, and representatives from relative departments of NDRCC attended the meeting.
Mr. Pang Chenmin welcomed the delegation and briefed the Chinese practices on disaster early warning and information release, concept on national comprehensive disaster reduction and future working initiatives, as well as the function and technical features of NDRCC in disaster information management, disaster risk and loss assessment and satellite remote sensing monitoring. Mr. Osvaldo Moraes introduced the institutional mandate, working function and future developing vision of the CEMADEN. Considering the common task for disaster risk reduction shouldered to the two agencies, both sides expressed the best wishes for future cooperation under the framework of BRICS and China-Brazil bilateral mechanism.
